The work that never gets done.
Finally done.

Give your team what a bigger one would have — the systems, the cadence, and the follow-through that usually takes a whole department.

Who we are

Two kinds of organization.
The same problem.

Every small organization runs on fewer people than the work requires. The shop, the practice, the parish, the nonprofit — the department the work deserves is never coming.

So the department's work goes undone. The call unreturned. The donor unthanked. The invoice unchased. The way it all works, carried in one person's head. And the organization stays smaller and less visible than it deserves to be.

élan installs the systems that do that work. Built with the people already there. AI only where the alternative was nothing. Written down so it survives turnover and time. Finished on a date known in advance.

One way of working

Every engagement is built the same way.

The order

Systems, in sequence

One working system at a time, installed in an order that's defensible, not arbitrary. Each layer makes the next one worth building.

The spine

The Record

Every install writes its playbook — the steps, the logins, the calendar, the decision rules — so the operation survives the person. Included in every engagement.

The rail

The Human Line

The line AI never crosses, drawn on purpose, in writing, before anything is built. If you cannot name the human who signs it, it doesn't get automated.

Two practices

Which work never gets done at yours?

The Durable Operation

You raise money

Nonprofits, faith communities, arts organizations, mission-driven teams. The donor file, the calendar, the second gift, the monthly giving program — the fundraising that compounds when someone finally builds it.

Working principles

The rules we work by.

  • AI drafts. Humans send. Nothing writes to your donors or your customers unsupervised. Ever.
  • Narrow beats comprehensive. One system, finished, beats five systems started.
  • The playbook is the deliverable. Written for the next person, not the current one.
  • Measure the thing that pays, not the thing that's easy.
  • Small budgets are a constraint, not an excuse. If it needs enterprise software, it's a referral.
The person behind it

Built by someone who has carried the work.

I've spent nearly a decade in enterprise sales at research and market-intelligence firms, helping organizations turn data into decisions they can actually act on. Most of my career has been inside the research industry — building and managing strategic accounts at leading research and advisory firms, and more recently leading enterprise AI deployment and go-to-market work.

For more than fifteen years I've worked on service and missionary trips abroad — in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico — largely through SOUND Affect International, where I've led program elements including violin instruction and music training.

It's the reason I know what thin capacity actually feels like from the inside, rather than from a benchmark report.

You raise money

Fundraising that compounds.

Small operations don't fail because the people are bad at fundraising. They fail because the layers were built out of order, nothing was written down, and the one person holding it left.

The problem, in the sector's own numbers

Acquiring a dollar costs up to five times what renewing one does. Every departed donor is bought back at full price.

The framework

The Durable Operation.

Four layers of fundraising system, in the only order that works — held by two rails that apply from the first day, not bolted on later.

The lead offer

Ninety days that change the math.

The Second Gift System is a 90-day welcome sequence: thank like a human, prove the gift landed before any ask, invite before soliciting, make the second ask as a continuation, then open the monthly door.

It's entirely procedural, it shows results inside one giving cycle, and it moves donors from first-timer retention rates to repeat-donor rates — where the compounding starts.

Where AI fits

AI drafts. Humans send.

Most organizations automate exactly the wrong half — the thank-you note, the check-in, the detail that produced a second gift. The easiest things to automate are the things carrying the relationships. So we draw the line on purpose, in writing, once.

Your next step

Twelve questions. Ten minutes.

The free assessment scores your operation on all six positions and tells you where to start. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to send it. You keep the readout whether or not we ever speak.

And it's allowed to tell you to buy nothing. If your operation is solid, it will say so.

You run a business

The demand you already earned is leaking.

Main Street businesses don't fail for lack of demand. They fail because the demand they already earned leaks out — while everyone selling to them sells them more demand.

None of these are marketing problems. They are operations problems wearing marketing's clothes — and every one of them is measurable from the outside, on your business, this week.

The order of operations

Four verbs, in sequence.

Answer what you already have. Ask for what you already earned. Collect what you're already owed. Only then, pay for more.

Everyone selling to a small business sells the fourth verb first. The first three are cheaper, faster, and yours already.

Every install writes its chapter of one manualReplaces silence, never conversation

Ads come last on purpose. Ad spend is multiplied or zeroed by everything below it — and an agency can't tell you to fix the layers first, because its fee lives in the spend. Ours doesn't.

Where AI fits — and where it doesn't

Two rules, honestly applied.

AI replaces silence, never conversation. A disclosed machine answering at 9pm beats an empty room. It never beats a person. So nothing we install ever stands between you and a customer who reached a human.

AI lifts beginners where mistakes are loud. It buries them where mistakes are silent. A clumsy draft gets caught. A wrong price, a bad ledger entry, a misjudged contract does not — until it costs you. Which is why some of what we're asked to automate, we decline.

Deploy

Nothing stands there, mistakes are loud. Disclosed AI takes it — the after-hours answer, the form acknowledgment.

Mechanize

Nothing stands there, mistakes are silent. Rules, not models — reminders, card-on-file.

Draft

A person stands there, mistakes are loud. AI drafts, a named person signs.

Protect

Mistakes are silent. Human only — pricing, the ledger, contracts, the sales conversation.

Axes: what stands there today (a person / nothing) × who catches a mistake (anyone, right away / only an expert, later).
AI may only stand where no one stood — and only where a mistake would be loud.
Your next step

The Outside Look.

Before any conversation, we measure your operation from the outside, the way a customer meets it — the timed inquiry, the phone probe, the review page, the map result — run identically against three competitors you name. Then one working session inside, and you get a readout with a dollar figure attached to every measured fact and one recommended first move.

$1,200, credited in full against any install booked within 60 days. And if the Look finds no measurable leak anywhere, it's free — if nothing is leaking, we had no business charging you to look.

No content-marketing machine. No review generation, gating, or incentives. No outbound automation. No bot in any conversation with your customers. And when a mistake in some corner of your business would be silent, we'll tell you AI doesn't belong there — even when you ask for it.
